BriO de Cantenac Brown
Producer: Château Cantenac Brown
Region: Margaux, Bordeaux, France
Grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc
This second wine of Château Cantenac Brown from the Margaux appellation in Bordeaux delivers a refined and elegant expression of the region’s classic blend.
- Appearance: Deep garnet red with purple reflections.
- Nose: The nose is rich and complex, with aromas of ripe blackcurrant, blackberry, and plum from the Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Subtle notes of violet, cedar, and tobacco emerge from the Cabernet Franc, alongside a touch of vanilla and spice from oak ageing.
- Palate: Medium to full-bodied, with well-integrated tannins and balanced acidity. The palate offers a harmonious blend of dark fruits—blackcurrant, black cherry, and plum—complemented by hints of graphite, cedar, and spice. The Merlot brings a roundness and softness, while the Cabernet Sauvignon adds structure and depth. There is a fine minerality that reflects the Margaux terroir.
- Finish: Long and elegant, with lingering notes of dark fruit, oak, and a touch of tobacco.
Pairing: Pairs beautifully with roasted meats, lamb, game dishes, or aged cheeses.
Serving suggestion: Serve at 16-18°C and decant for at least an hour before serving to enhance its complexity and aromatics.
