A seriously special red with plenty of depth and personality. Expect rich black cherry, dried plum and raisin, with warming notes of cocoa, sweet spice and a touch of tobacco. Full-bodied and beautifully concentrated, with velvety tannins and a long, warming finish.

This is a wine for the slow-and-savoury stuff: think braised beef cheeks, wild boar ragù or a beautifully aged ribeye. Truffle and taleggio polenta will do the trick too. A proper Italian showstopper, best enjoyed slowly and with something delicious on the table.
