Greece is the ultimate risk and reward country for wines! Most of us can't even pronounce the varieties and as such, would shy away from them. But for those who are brave and bold, exceptional wines at very fair prices wait for you.
- Prepare to explore:Â Most Greek wines are made from local varieties like Xinomarvo or Assyrtiko and you'll rarely find "international varieties". I say embrace the adventure.
- They are Best with food:Â Food is such a big part of Greek Culture, so it makes sense the wines are made for food. The Reds are fantastic with roasted red meats and the whites are phenomenal with grilled fish
- Pick your Producers:Â There are some producers that I love every wine they Make (Gaia) and others that aren't for me. If you find a producer you like, stick with them.
