Phinca Hapa Tinto, Rioja, Spain

Duncan Says: Rioja, but Different. Bio-dynamic winemaker and a focus on single vineyards.

Tasting Notes: An alternative Rioja style from carefully selected vineyards. Deep, intense and slightly savoury notes of mushroom and earthiness.

Grape: Tempranillo, Graciano, Viura

Best Enjoyed: A fantastic red for roast Pork, Lamb or Beef.

Good to Know: Originally from Hawaii, Melanie fell in love with a Riojan winemaker David Sampedro of Phinca Bhilar and move to start a life in Spain. Her passion for wine has lead her to purchase her own vineyard plots and start her Struggling Vines natural winemaking project.
